Cuc Phuong National Park is located in Nho Quan district, Ninh Binh Province, on the border of Ninh Binh Province, Hoa Binh Province and Thanh Hoa Province, over 100km Southwest of Hanoi.
It was the first National Park of Vietnam and was established in July 1962. The park covers 22,000ha, including a majority of limestone mountains with the height ranging from 300 to 600m above sea level.
Cuc Phuong has a diversified flora and fauna with nearly 2000 species. Cuc Phuong is famous for parashrea stellata, ancient dracontomelum aged about 1000 years old, with the height ranging from 50 to 70m, trachypithecus delacouri and many species of rare and precious butterflies.
