Vietnamese traditionally pay tribute to ancestors through a feast of fruits, food, sweets, flowers and tea offered to deities and ancestors. Here chung cake plays the important role representing rice and nature in the water rice culture of Vietnam.
Main ingredients are glutinous rice, pork meat, and green beans. It is wrapped in a square of bamboo leaves that will give the rice a green color after it is baked. The sticky rice must be very good and has to soak in water for a day. The rice cake is wrapped in square shape, and cooked for about 12 hours by wood.
