Close to the Vietnam – Cambodia border, Chau Doc town is near Hau River, in An Giang, about 245km west of Ho Chi Minh City. Chau Doc has Ba Chua Xu Nui Sam temple (Ba Chua Xu Festival is organized in lunar April every year). Chau Doc is the place where tourists can study the culture of Cham and Khmer ethnic minorities and Holy Sees of Cham ethnic minority.

Ba Chua Xu temple
Established in 1820 with the architecture of “quoc” letter. The temple holds a statue made of blue stone named Lady of the Realm. Ba Chua Xu Festival is organized every year on the ending days of lunar April. Tens of thousands of people rush to this temple to attend the Lady of the Realm statue ceremony, and partake in the ceremonies..
Tay An Pagoda
Located at the food of Sam Mountain, also known as Tay An co tu, is 5km from Chau Doc. Tay An pagoda and Sam mountain (284m high) is a beautiful tourist spot. Tay An pagoda was constructed with influence from Indian and Islamic art, combined with ancient pagoda architecture of Vietnamese Buddhist.
Thoai Ngoc Hau mausoleum
Located in the Sam mountain relic site, and built in 1820. This mausoleum is also the place to worship Thoai Ngoc Hau – who was instrumental in reclaiming the southern land, defending the national border and the works left for the next generations such as Thoai Ha trench (nearly 32km long) and Vinh Te canal (extending from Chau Doc to Ha Tien about 90km long).
